After Hotchkis Sport Suspension decided to move forward with a complete suspension system for both the 1966-69 Chrysler B-Body and the 1970-74 Chrysler E-Body, John Hotchkis started looking for R&D cars online. He found this Challenger, totally restored and all stock down to the Rally wheels and bias ply tires, on eBay. The car was purchased in July 2008, thoroughly tested, then stripped of its suspension for a complete re-design. The finished product, complete with StopTech prototype brakes has been competing in Autocross and even the occasional drag race with great success. Even in Auto-Cross trim, E-Max is a relatively stock vehicle compared to many of the auto-cross competitors. Modifications include a full array of Hotchkis suspension components, including geometry-corrected Tubular A-Arms, front and rear Sport Sway Bars, Subframe Connectors, Sport Springs, Adjustable Steering Rods and Adjustable Strut Rods. The bolt-on system creates a proper negative camber curve, sufficient positive camber for high speed stability and full bump and droop travel without bumpsteer. Prototype Hotchkis-Afco adjustable stocks provide high performance damping, and the steering has been rebuilt with Flaming River hardware. Red Line's 10W40 is the oil of choice for the wide bearing clearances on this 340 6-pack car. The Tremec TKO manual 5-speed shifts with Red Line MTL and our 75W90 GL-5 has enough limited slip friction modifier already included to make the LSD work just right.
